Goals of the National Population Policy (NPP)
The interventions mentioned are implemented with an objective to achieve the following major Goals of the NPP by the year 2012.
- Reduce IMR to below 30 per 1000 live births.
- Reduce MMR to below 100 per 1,00,000 live births.
- Achieve Universal Immunization of Children against all vaccine preventable diseases.
- Achieve 80% Institutional Deliveries and 100% Deliveries by trained health personels.
- Promote small family norm to achieve replacement level TFR.
- Promote delayed marriage for girls, not earlier than 18 and preferably after 20 years of age.
- Achive 100% Registration of Births and Deaths.
